Sizing not consistent between washes

I bought these in all 4 washes, all the same size. The black wash is a full size too small, the dark blue is a full size too big, the medium and light washes fit perfectly. I’m super annoyed that sizing isn’t consistent.

American Eagle makes great jeans, unless theyre black. I typically wear a 14 or 16. I have these jeans in another color in a 16 regular that fit perfectly so I ordered the black. The 16s were so tight I couldnt get the zipper even close to together. Ordered the 18, and the waist fits but the thighs have SO MUCH extra room in them. I can grab a fistful of fabric and still have room. The cherry on top is that these aren’t a true black, more of a washed out almost dark grey.

Not stretchy and had waistband gap

These look really cute but have absolutely no stretch on them. I've been a size 8 in AE jeans for a long time and these were super tight/small yet I still had a waistband gap, which would probably be even worse if I sized up to a 10. Have to return them.

I sized up and they fit okay, a little looser in the calf than I would have preferred they look more like bootcut. Also I bought these in black and am so confused who decided to makes the pockets (and only the pockets) distressed. I put things in my pockets, I don't want there to be a hole!

sizing is wrong

these were such cute cute jeans but i expected it to be more of a high rise since it said “super high rise” and the pictures were shown high rised but this came below my belly button. the sizing were a bit off too, i’m usually a 000 reg but 00 short works well with me too. this however, around the lower waist/butt area was so tight and whenever i pulled it up, the crotch area wasnt comfy. everytime i squat down, the back area were like so low it felt lile my panties were just shown to everyone.

I own at least 10 pairs of AE jeans in lots of different styles and they always fit the same. That’s part of why I love them. This pair was a full size too small. I had to return them and they’re an online only so I couldn’t exchange them. Disappointed.

These are really cute jeans, but the description and sizing are way off. Bought a 14L (I usually wear a regular but i wanted to roll them at the bottom)—they fit like a regular in length and the rise is not super high, maybe a mid rise, and they have no give at all, way too small in the waist and most 14s are loose on me. (Im closer to a 12 but Im curvy) Had to return and refuse to size up because that just kills my confidence lol

#AEReviewSweepsEntry - nothing wrong with them, but I don't like them. I really like their mom jeans, and thought these would be similar, but they are not. They are also more faded then I would have liked. If you like this cut I am sure they will be fine, but I learned that I do not!
Unrelated, but AE you should make non-ripped, pure black mom jeans!

Cute but really small

Overall the jeans are cute, but I ordered my usual size and could barely get it over my hips, let alone zip them up. I ordered the same size as a pair of jeans from AE that I already had, so I know what size I should be. Plus, I also ordered a different style of jeans in that same size, which fit me perfectly. So, just size up like 1 or 2 sizes when buying this style!

Loved the look of these but should not be advertised as being highwaisted at all. I’d say they’re more mid-waist, which I hate, and they also fit so small? I buy this size in every other pair of jeans I have so these are super messed up.

I bought these in my size and when i tried them on they fit perfectly ! But, sadly once i washed them they shrunk a LOT and now they no longer fit :( The rise is more of a mid rise as well, length was perfect but im 5’0 so if youre taller you 100% need to get the long size.

All of my pants from AE are a size 4 xlong. I even sized up to a 6 on these and could barely button them. The pockets were oddly placed and made my booty look weird. Sent them back immediately.

Not true to size

I own many 2regular super high waisted ankle cut jesns so i decided to get more in different colors. Got these in short size but, theiyre lower than my other jeans and the have a 5-7 inch opening at my belly. Doesnt even get close to buttoning up.

bought 14 usually wear a 12 and these were skin tight and looked like i forgot the bottom portion of my pants they were so short. says they have little stretch- ahhhh no they dont. no wonder women have body issues🤦♀️

HORRIBLE FIT compared to other AE jeans

I have many pairs of American Eagle jeans and I am always a size 4 or 6 depending on the fit I’m going for. These jeans are not sized the same at all!! I got a size 6 and I could barely button them. They aren’t high rise - they land an inch below my belly button. It looks nothing like the model when it comes to the waist and butt of the jeans. From the mid-thigh down, the jeans were as expected. Overall the fit is bizarre. Definitely going to be returning these.

fits wayyy too small

I usually wear size 18-20 with jeggings, so i ordered a size 20 in these and theyre so tight in the waist i couldnt even get close to buttoning them. my hips are 56” and my waist is 46”. unfortunately i cant go up a couple sizes on these bc 20 is the biggest size lol. but if you do get these, go up a size or 2

These jeans have holes!! I specifically bought them because I thought they wouldn’t! American Eagle, why can’t you make a simple pair of black non skinny jeans? I want something business casual to wear to work, not trying to look like a fake-blue-collar-teenager. This was the biggest disappointment of my week

i bought these in black and blue. The blue fit perfectly- the black pair were sized smaller. i couldnt even button them. they also came w the no go tag still attached and had the deconstructed pocket which was not shown online when i ordered. very disappointed
