Aerie states these are LOW RISE but based on their own measurements charts, these fall between mid-rise and high-rise. Are they just slapping low-rise onto listings because they know that's what people are looking for? The size chart is also inaccurate. I have a 47" hip and the size chart says I'd be a size 20/XXL. I wear a size 14 usually and sometimes in AE stuff a 12. Who's doing these measurements?
Based on a review of someone a size 16, I bought an L. The rise is funky and sits at the top of my hip bones. Basically it sits in the worst spot between a Mid and High Rise. Too low to hold in the pudge and too high for the pudge to lay normal. The elastic band just wants to fold up, so I may cut the stitch and let it.
Other than that? There's a good stretch and these feel nice. Just wish it weren't such an ordeal finding a size. You're supposed to count on the listing as being accurate and lately all AE listing have been wrong.
For reference my sizing is as follows:
Waist: 38in Hip: 47in
Usual pant size: US 14
Height: 5'3
