AE Ripped Mom Jean

I bought this same pair a couple years ago and they were perfect. But since I lost weight they don’t fit how they should. So I just bought a new pair and oh my gosh….they look so SHEIN and so fake. So cheap. The color is way off and nothing like the picture. Very disappointed.

I ordered my usually size but the pair I received, while labeled the size I wanted was half the size! I had to return them for not fitting correctly.

I ordered a size 2 short that is exactly like the other pair I own and when this pair arrived I took them out to try them on and I couldn’t even get them zipped up! I double checked all of the tags and they all said 2 short. I took them to my niece who wears 00 short and they fit her perfectly. Somebody messed up big time and I didn’t want to deal with the hassle of returning them so I gave them to my niece and was out $40. The only positive I had was shipping was fast.

Ordered these expecting to get a cute fitting jeans ankle length only to find when I pulled them out of the packaging, the waist was tampered. Def not stretch waist as the tag states. Every other pair of American eagle jeans I own are size 8. These fit like a size 4. Couldn't even get them past my thighs. Extremely disappointed. Will be returning.

I am normally a 12/14 at other stores. I ordered a 16 and the buttons weren’t even close to closing?! I got a 16 in another AE style and they just fit maybe even a little big. Really disappointed

I had been on the search for a trendy mom jean for some time and I’ve had lots of luck with AE in the past - figured it was a no brainer after reading the reviews. These were a tremendous disappointment - way too small in the waist and stomach and way too loose everywhere else. I also found the comfort waist band to be non-existent.

These jeans not only run extremely small, but the overall fit and quality of the jean is horrible. I’ve never been more disappointed with American Eagle. I am someone who always wore American eagle jeans, but have not for a few years since having children. I find it very interesting that a size 12 fit me at gap, old navy and Abercrombie yet a 16 is too small here. Very frustrating.

Is all the jeans size shrinking? I have size 2 mom jeans from a year ago and they fit perfectly. I sized up to a 4 on this and its ridiculously tight in the band and crotch. The cut out sits above my knees. I am a big support of ae jeans I am not sure what has happen to the sizing? For reference I am 5'2" and 127lb.

I’m regular size 8, ordered the 10 and they run very small in the waist. Compared it to my other AE jeans and the “10” is smaller then the 8’s I have. Also zero give, absolutely no stretch.

I saw an influencer recommend these jeans, but I found these jeans to be WAY bigger than expected. I'm 5'7, about 29" waist, 37" hips, and have a long torso. I got a size 8, but they fit very baggy around the crotch, hips, and thighs. The waist was also on the looser side. Also, the cut for these jeans looks nothing like the lay-flat photo on the website. When you lay the jeans flat, the hips portion is abnormally large looking! I got another mom jeans in a different color, and I had the same experience with both. I'd say this might look good on someone who has curvier hips and butt. For me, this is a huge no. Not flattering at all!

If I could give half a star I would.. I own pants in a size 10 & 12 from American Eagle. I read a review saying to size up, so I reluctantly purchased a size 14 hoping they’d be a little loose and more comfortable. BOY was I humbled when they didn’t button by about 5/6 inches. The weird part? Every other part of the pants fit like a glove besides actually zipping/buttoning up! AE is loving their body positive movement and using real girls as models which I think is amazing… but if you’re sizing isn’t going to be in anyway consistent … you’re not sparking body positivity in your customers. I would probably need an 18 or 20 for these to comfortably fit. I love AE, so this was a let down. 10/10 don’t recommend if you have any curves.

Couldn’t even get them over my thighs. I got a size bigger than usual and they still didn’t fit. Got the size I normally get in another pair and they fit perfectly.

Super cute jeans with an unrealistically small waist band. No stretch, order size up.

These were huge. And looked nothing like picture. They were much darker and the holes in the knees looked worse.

I wanted to like these jeans. I really did. I’ve never had a problem with any of my other jeans I’ve ordered from AE. I couldn’t even fasten these. They must go back!

I have a pair of 18’s that are HUGE from here but I wear to lounge around in. Ordered the 16 and they don’t even come close to buttoning. I’m tired of the mismatch sizing when I can wear a 14 in other stores.

I ordered my normal size, 31 in mom jeans, and unfortunately these run very small! In comparison to other 31 mom jeans in a different brand they run very small at the buckle. Everything else fit perfect and made my butt look amazing, but the tightness at the buckle ruined it for me! It would not be comfortable at all to wear all day. I may try to return for the next size up

These would probably be great for teenagers. But these are absolutely not mom jeans. The leg part fits really well. The length and size is great there. But the waist? NOT mom jeans. It’s SO TINY. If you’ve actually had a baby these likely will not fit you. Not only do they run super super small, they also have zero stretch.

I read so many of these reviews before I ordered these and ended up getting my normal size since the majority of the reviews said they ran true to size. I was completely shocked when I tried these on and found they were AT LEAST two sizes too small. Will not be repurchasing, as these fit everywhere but the waist and will look like clown pants on me if I size up appropriately. Women's sizing is such a scam and this was really the nail in the coffin of AE jeans for me.

They run small in the waist area, where it was kind of tight in the waist area. I loved the length and the style of the jeans!

Runs small in waist and AE is Notorious for constantly being out of stock in larger sizes on nearly everything all the time

I was excited to get these. I even went up a size to wear them high waisted. They do not come close to fitting no matter where they are on my waist. And they aren't stretchy like my other jeans from ae. Sad I'll have to return these and get a completely different style of jeans.

These boast having a comfort stretch waistband and they most certainly do not. I have several pairs of mom jeans from AE and these fall short. I am disappointed that I have to go through the hassle of returning them because I thought they would fit like the other 3 pairs I have. I can't even button these. I wish AE would have consistency in their sizing.
