First, this "flannel" style shirt is not your traditional smooth silky flannel. It is 90% cotton and 10% linen with a coarse weave. While it IS soft, the material is also quite thick to be considered "lightweight." All said, I do like it, and it pairs really well with jeans for a nice relaxed look. Wish there were more patterns available. Sizing: I'm 5'7" (150#) and the Small fits perfectly and is not too long (which can be a problem for us shorter guys). You may want to jump to a Medium if you are taller (or wider) ;). Washes and drys well (low) and best not to iron.

The shirt is great although the sizing on AE is crazy. It definitely runs large like someone else previously mentioned. For me, their Medium fit like a Large and their Small fit like a Medium. Every other shirt I own, from any other brand, is a Medium. This is the first time I had to re-purchase a shirt in Small.
