Tight Inside Lining

I bought these for my boyfriend because they looked like nice workout shorts, however when he put them on, there was something off about the fit. I originally bought size L and the outer layer was huge, but the tighter shorts lining the inside were too tight. I exchanged for the XL, hoping the lining would be looser, but it was still way too tight. I then tried on the shorts just to see for myself and they were tight around my legs too! For reference, I am a size 00 in all my AE jeans. The fact the size XL shorts didn’t fit my typically size L boyfriend was kind of odd, but the fact they were tight on me, a size XS female is absolutely absurd. Really wanted these to work, but since the outer layer was huge and inner layer was tiny, they just didn’t fit well.
Other than the fit, they’re really good quality! The drawstring waist and zipper pockets are awesome!
My boyfriend has a lot of muscle in his legs and prefers looser clothing, so it would be nice to see an Athletic Fit training short from AE so they wouldn’t be so tight on the legs! The AE Training Shorts from last year fit him great. It’s too bad this year’s version fits different.
