Aerie LumberJane Waffle Shirt

I love this shirt! I debated on sizing for like a day because of the comments. Im a 18/20 and the xxl was HUGE. I like baggy so I was playing it safe but it was just way too much. I reordered and got an xl we shall see!

Love this shirt and color! Perfect to go over a dress, bodysuits, dress it up or down. I ended up returning and sizing down

Love this shirt. I can wear it as a cardigan or a button up, home or office! One minor flaw is the buttons on the cuffs do not stay clasped :(

I bought this for my mom as a xmas gift. This has a very oversized fit, as the XXL is about equivalent to a 3X in plus size. Mom loves this top and says its very cozy and the waffle knit holds warmth very well. I also bought this in a different color in size M for me, and had to exchange mine, due to a crookedly sewn pocket. Store staff was excellent in processing the exchange. I recommend thoroughly examining any garment in person before purchasing, but even if you don't, the returns/exchange policy is great, so no need to worry about that! Overall, great shirt, but I give it 4/5 stars due to the sewing error.

This shirt jacket runs very wide. I typically wear a medium in oversized fits and a large in fitted tops. I went with a small in this and still have an oversized fit. I wish it were longer in the front like it is the back to combat how wide it is. Not the best fit on my pear shaped frame. The sleeves are also short. I would have bought several more colors if it had just been as long in the front as it is in the back!

I love this shirt! I have it in black and green so I wanted the red for Christmas. It’s NOT red at all. It look like a dark pink. I got it to wear over graphic holiday shirts but I can’t because it’s not red. I love the actual shirt and the fit but this is not the color red.

I do like this shirt very much. It's an interesting weight, not too heavy not too thin. Thicker than a flannel, but not as heavy as a shacket. I weigh 147 and I'm 5'6. I usually wear a medium in tops, but bought a small in this and its pretty oversized. I could do an xs and it be good, too. I like it, but I feel like quality compared to price is not accurate so I took off a star. I also haven't washed it yet... I'm a little nervous to after seeing some of the reviews where the colors ran. Fingers crossed!!!

I wear an XL and ordered a Medium. It fits just right, loose but not hugely oversized, comfy and stretchy.

The only complaint I have is that the sleeves on this shirt are a bit to short. If you are looking for the perfect fit I would size up.

I am typically a size large but in Aerie, I always end up ordering a medium for an oversized fit without swimming in it. This shirt is incredible! I wanted a shacket for the fall season but couldn't justify one for wearing only outdoors. This is a great alternative because it can be worn outside for the warmer fall days but also not too warm to wear inside all fall and winter long! Great buy even though the price is steep...

Love the color and material, but this runs really large. I’m 4’11 and the back hit between the lower half of my thigh and my knees, making me look even shorter. The back is a lot longer than the front. Sadly had to return. #AEReviewSweepsEntry

I can't even decide how I like this because it is gigantically oversized. I got an XXL because I wear a 16/18 normally, and I could easily fit another person in this shirt with me. The fabric is nice and soft, though. Considering sizing down to a Large.

Love the shirt. Comfy oversized fit. Washed according to directions. Color immediately distorted. Awful patches washed out. Big disappointment.

I had ordered the light gray and loved it SO much. Probably my most worn item for the last 4 months. The only issue I had with it was that the bottom button/button hole to not line up correctly, so it is either puckered if it's buttoned, or the 2 sides of the shirt are slighly uneven if it's unbuttoned. I just leave the bottom button undone, and hardly notice the uneveness. I finally decided I need another one since I wear the first so much, and bought the same size, M, in the dark charcoal gray this time. The dark gray one has the same bottom button issue, but is also fits larger than the light gray in the same size. It is longer and bigger overall, even after washing. One of the button holes on the sleeve cuffs is too big for the button and won't stay buttoned as well. It's just too many issues for this price of shirt. Unfortunately have to return, but might try again in a different color and hope for the best.

Buttons were poorly sewed in and immediately popped off, other than that I love this shirt!

I am normally an XXL/1X/2X in most brands. I ordered this Aerie top in an XL based on the reviews but even sizing down to an XL was way too big. I could easily fit into a large and it would still be oversized. Returning. The color is beautiful in person though!

I really don't get the hype for this shirt. I love the idea of it, but when I got it and tried it on it was way shorter in the front than I wanted. I don't know why Aerie is starting to cut their "oversized" shirts short in the front now, but they didn't used to be. I understand the back being longer than the front but the front does not even look oversized, it hits right at the hips like a standard fit. For the prize, totally not worth it in my opinion. The fabric is pretty thick though, so that's nice but I am returning it because it's not what I was hoping for.

Love this. But since the first day I got it the buttons on both soeeves keep coming undone. It’s very annoying.

I am roughly 200lbs, 5’5”, pear shaped, and ordered a medium. It fits more like an xl still and is quite baggy so keep that in mind while ordering. I could have easily gone down to a small. The green colour bled a bit like the reviews said it would and AE offered to take it back but I got it for half price during some promos and now this shirt excludes promos and I like it still, so I’m keeping it!

I got this is green and grey. Love the fit and style of this shirt. I’m a typical XS is AE and although this is an oversized shirt the XS was a perfect oversized fit! I washed the green separately in cold and the colour has run and left brown spots all over. Disappointed in that one. The wrists of the green one fit very tight compared to the grey as well. Definitely want another one, just maybe a lighter colour.

I have this shirt in white, size XXS and love it. So, I ordered they dark gray, in size XXS. The gray one is HUGE. It is unwearable. I laid the shirts on top of each other, and there is about 4 inches difference in size. When they are supposed to be the same size.. the quality is terrible. I’m so disappointed. Thinking of ordering another one and hoping it is closer to the size of the first one.

I bought one of these in December in size xxs and it was my favourite piece of clothing so decided to buy another one in charcoal. I ordered the same size and it fit COMPLETELY different and looks terrible. I had to return it

This shirt is perfect except the sizing! This small is made for an xxxxxxxLg person. I'm normally a medium, so I sized down per reviews. I could have gotten an XXXXXS for those case. For terrible so oversized.

Material is soft, but size and fit is off. Too big and not quite long enough. Sadly it was returned

So disappointed in this. Not only was the medium huge, it was also so sloppy that even going down 2 sizes wouldn’t have worked. Sending it back.

I loved the look of this shirt. I got the green one and the color ran during the first wash. I followed the directions to a T and didn’t even get to wear it once. I sent an email to AE hoping to get a refund or an exchange for another color because I am very disappointed. I love AE and this is the first time I’ve had an issue with the coloring of the clothing. I see there is another review stating the same thing but I figured maybe they didn’t actually wash it the way it said to wash it or maybe it was just one of the shirts and not all of them in that color. Definitely not worth spending over $50 to never be able to wear the shirt. I’m hoping the lighter colors don’t have the color run issue!

I wanted to love this shirt and it is such a cute staple piece, unfortunately I have not been able to wear it. I received this shirt with a couple other “special” dyed shirts and the others are perfect, but for some reason when washing this shirt it was ruined first wash. There is a stain due to color running that covers majority of the back of shirt. I followed the instructions on how to care for this piece just like I did with the other shirts that are dyed the same. Bummed I spent so much on a shirt that is ruined and cannot wear.
