Perfect Basic Swimsuit

Was looking for a basic black swimsuit with good coverage and this is it! I find it hard to strike a balance with one-pieces of good coverage without being overly modest/frumpy, but the detail on the front, V-cut in the front, and cut out back makes this one perfect!! Fit is as expected. Ordered my normal size Medium.

Nice one-piece

I needed a new one-piece that was a good combo of pretty, flattering, and a little more family-friendly for those pool days when I want to cover up a bit more. I liked this a little better online than on me, but I was still happy enough with it to keep. I expected the color to be more vibrant, but it's a bit pale. The neckline it pretty and so is the back--I like that it's strappy, but still covers up my sides/back areas I'm not as confident about.

Long Fit is Shorter than Other Aerie One-Pieces

I really want to love this swimsuit, but unfortunately, the long on this one isn't nearly as long as all the other Aerie one piece suits I've bought in the past. It's cut like a normal M instead of a M long. It's a shame too, because it really is a nice cut and style...just not long enough. At almost 48 years old, I don't need anything pulling my boobs down any lower! LOL

Ok! I love this suit I feel extremely confident in it and covered but enough skin that it doesn’t make me feel old. I am a mother of 3 and currently 2 months pp. I will easily be able to nurse in this which I love! Only down fall is the knotted part is not sewn together so I am fearful of a wardrobe malfunction! So can’t decide if I’m going to keep or not.

Not quite it for me

Purchased for about $18 on sale. Original price is a bit high for the quality. There isn't even a built-in shelf/bra for your boobs to fit in. I liked the blue and the strappy back, but unfortunately the cups didn't give me enough coverage to feel comfortable and secure. I worry they'll either pop out the top or peek through the braid since it isn't sewn together. I like the braid design if the cups had more coverage. If you're like a D cup or less, this might work for you.

NOT full coverage in the back

This suit looks great from the hipbones up but the booty is not even close to being full coverage. Every time I’d move it would ride up. It’s not uncomfortable and I’m stuck with it so I think I can make it work with shorts but know going in that two thirds of your butt will be showing.

Weird fit

I really wanted to love this, but the fabric in the middle of the suit was extremely weird. That being said I am small chested, so perhaps this would not be an issue on others. Returned as I felt the entire top of suit was too large and not flattering.

Pretty blue color but too short

A little too short in length

I have a very long torso (about 64-65") and I got a Medium Long in Black and Blue. I've tried other AE one-piece swimsuits in M Long and they're usually great in length. However, this style was too short on my body. The front was too low, and the proportions were just off on my body. If you have a regular length torso, this should be fine. Wished it worked out because it is a cute style.

This suit was too low cut in the front and high cut on the bottom, even though it was supposed to be full bottom. It was also too big everywhere for my 5'3" 110-pound frame.

I wanted to love this cute black suit, but I just don’t. I ordered an XXL because my torso needs the extra length. Even with the added length, this piece was higher cut in the front and definitely does not qualify as “full-coverage” in the back. It fit great otherwise. Note: There isn’t much support up top for a heavy chest—the braided detail leaves little room for error and I could see some spilling out of the bottom of the cutouts.

This isn’t one of the better one pieces!

I have two other long torso swimsuits from aerie and love them. I had high hopes for this swimsuit. The top pull weird with the crossed material and I found the bottoms to be tighter and fit weird compared to my other two suits. Maybe it’s the material of this one. My other one pieces are a ribbed material and have more stretch to them even though they are the same size. I wished I had returned this one. Would love for aerie to keep some of their more popular one pieces stocked and offer more colors.

Not for larger chests

I should preface by saying I have 2 other Aerie swimsuits that I love and fit great, this however is not it. I was so excited by the colors and style of this, but it is so small in the chest. I'm a 34DD, 150 lbs and this isn't close to covering my top. The way the seams lay weirdly cut into the breast. The braided part gapes and exposes skin in some parts, it looks so weird. The quality is great but it would fit a little better if the braided part was sewn together vs. actually braided.
