Beautiful but inconsistent sizing

I ordered two of these bralettes, one True Black, one Soft Satin, both S DD. Soft Satin has noticeably wider straps that almost act like cap sleeves on my shoulders and go into my armpits. When the back hook is used, there's significant bunching of the excess strap. Both colours appear to have wider straps than any of those pictured on the models (even though the description only notes different construction for XL, XLDD, + XXL). Soft Satin easily closes on the tightest hooks, but True Black is a bit snug on the loosest hooks. Cup size on both is perfect - not too big, not too small. Inconsistent fit issues aside, the lace is absolutely gorgeous and the bralettes are very comfortable, with good support (a bit flattening, but I feel that's typical of a bralette). The little vertical mesh panel at the front is really eye-catching.

Straps are way too wide

I have a couple of the bras in the previous style that was discontinued. i was hoping to replace them, so I tried this bra. I’m happy with the fit in the cups and band, but the straps are way too wide. like so wide that they go into my arm pits. please bring back the other version!

cute but not for larger chests

I ordered this hoping it would fit since I was getting a size meant for a larger chest, but it did not fit. If felt constrictive and flattened my chest. I wear roughly a 40D and got an XL DD but it didn’t work. If it had a little more space in the chest I think it would’ve been great. It’s very cute just didn’t work for me.

Straps too wide for my preference

The bralette is cute, looks similar in-person to online, and the sizing was accurate for me. I love lace bralettes that continue the lace on the straps (surprisingly hard to find lace bralettes that don’t just have normal bra straps), and I love even more that the lace on this one continues *behind* your shoulder before attaching to the adjustable part. My only gripe about this bra is that the lace on the straps is WIDER than wide. Too wide (in my opinion) to look cute under an off-the-shoulder top, for example — it just looks weird. However, this is personal style preference, so if this doesnt bother you, this could be a great bralette for you!

No, I do not recommend this product.

please bring back the old style

I do miss the old style of this bralette. the newly designed ones have too many clasps on the back and i feel that the support on the front went away with this new style. at least the style is cute and has nice colors. i wear a size medium in this bralette

Yes, I recommend this product.

Bralette

I love the style of the bra. It’s very supportive and I like the way it feels. The one thing I don’t like is how thick the straps are. I would just like them to be thinner.

New and NOT improved

I have four of these bralettes of the previous style. I'm disappointed to say these updates on this style were not for the better. I found the straps to be much wider and dug into my armpits. Sadly sent it back. #AEReviewSweepsEntry

Disappointed in the redesign of this style

I have 6 different colors in the previous version of the lace padded plunge bralette and I love them all - so comfortable and supportive. I love that the pads are removeable, as well. However, this version with its extra wide straps was a no-go for me. Not only did it stick out of my tank tops in an awkward fashion, but I also suspect it would dig into my armpits on a long day of wear. I am sending it back, but with sadness because the pink color is SO nice and the lace is soft and the support seems great. Please do a redesign, Aerie!

2 Stars By Comparison

I guess you could say this bralette is nice and fairly supportive but lacking in comfort. If I had never used the old one I might rate it higher. However, the reason for 2 stars is the updated design, for me, is far worse than the original as other reviews have echoed. This used to be my favorite bralette and now I’m debating on returning it. The wider straps and overall build are not as comfortable (there are 4 hooks on the new one and there used to be 3) AND somehow even with the extra structure it feels less supportive?? Also definitely doesn’t look as cute on as before in my opinion. Please PLEASE bring back an option for the old design. #AEReviewSweepsEntry

It's Not Improved For Me

I'm 5'2 and 117 pounds with a petite build and sloping shoulders. This new design comes out way too far on my shoulders and cuts into me near the armpits. It's like it's set too wide. I do like that the cross back is improved by way of comfort and fit, but the overall fit of the bralette is not improved for me. I can no longer wear these, which is a total bummer since they're so cute.

Straps Thicker

I bought this in black and white about a year and a half ago. I loved them and wore them all the time, but when I ordered this to replace my old and used one the straps are incredibly thick over the shoulder, especially in the front, and it digs into my armpit and is not comfy. Returning it :/ I found some others that work well, but sad this one does not anymore

Weird overly wide straps

The straps are so much wider than with the old style of lace plunge bralette and it is very unflattering. The straps literally reach into my armpit no matter how I adjust it. I loved to wear the old style of the lace plunge bralette in racer back mode with cropped tank tops, but this just looks weird now because of the overly wide straps that stick out. Without clothes, even still it just gives a very boxy look that is not cute. I don't know where to get good lace bralettes for summer now :(

Disappointing

I was hoping to love this, but it was a massive fail. This ran way too small on me and the cup size was also very small considering I ordered an XXL. It gave me no support once I got it on even though it was tight on me! Sadly I probably won't be purchasing a bralette from aerie considering how small this ran. Please make your clothes true to size and extend your sizing!! #AEReviewSweeps

Poor quality compared to older editions

I had some of these from a few years ago & I loved them. They're still in great condition. However, since buying those ones, I lost weight & had to get a smaller size. The straps are wider on the smaller size, for some weird reason. Despite following the care instructions, the straps have begun to split in half down the middle seam. I bought two a few months ago & both have the same holes in each of the straps. These bralettes have been very lightly worn & have had a handful of washings; they are solely my work bralettes & I only work 12hrs/week in retail. The eyelash lace is different, too. These ones have a lot of itchy spots around the edges, whereas I never had a problem with the ones from a few years ago. Sad to say I'm extremely disappointed in the quality of these, especially since the older ones are constructed much better.

bring back the old version pls :(

I’m a 36 H and finding a comfortable bralette without spillage is a struggle. The old version of this bralette was my favorite product from Aerie. It was perfect, comfortable and secure. The new one is made out of different materials with smaller cups! They also changed the cut of the cups and now I am spilling out of them and have to adjust , it’s uncomfortable. The old version was amazing please bring it back :(

Way too small

This product is for tiny, thin people, definitely not plus size friendly. If you're any bigger than a medium I would not not recommend (not even the extra large) and the "dd" extra large cup size is a joke, it's more like a "c" cup than a true "dd" cup.
