AE Stretch Curvy Mom Jean

I loved this look but I’m usually a size 16/18 in jeans and had to get a size 20 for these to fit right. Love the look though!

I love mom jeans and I had a pair from American Eagle that I adore. But this time… it gave me a long booty. It’s very high waist. So I am assuming the high waist is whats giving a long butt. But I don’t recommend. It was also very tight. I always get a size 8 or 10. But American eagles sizing is so non consistent. Very disappointed. Shipping was fast, about a 3 day delivery.

This is the second time I've had inconsistent sizing from American Eagle (the first time with their huggie bras). I already own both the light and dark versions of these mom jeans- I bought the dark last fall and the light a year ago. I LOVE them. They feel like sweat pants and I don't need a belt! But I just ordered a backup pair of the same size I already own and wow its's 2 inches smaller?? I waited months for my size to come back in stock and wasted my coupon on them. If you can figure out your size in their new sizing system, they are great, but it's disappointing when these and other curvy jeans aren't even in any stores nearby to try on.

Size up! I have a bunch of AE stretch mom jeans in size 14 but when I received these ones I couldn’t even pull them past my waist. I ended up having to go exchange them in store and size up to a 16. These jeans are not stretch like the other mom jeans I have.

Alright I bought these and the Black pair of jeans based on reviews with people similar to my measurements. For reference I am (for sure, not guessing) 32” in the waist and 43” in the hips. Based on reviews plus sizing recommendations I bought a size 14 because people said they ran small. These were waaaay too big. It made me look super frumpy. I bought the black ones in a size 12 and they were too big as well. I like my mom jeans fitted in the waist and hips and loose everywhere else and these were loose all over. So I’d be careful with sizing if you’re similar to my size or split sizes. I’ll be returning likely for a size 10 in both pairs.

I got these jeans and they fit amazing on my first wear but it started to stretch out on my lower stomach which emphasized my bloating.

It seems like AE keeps getting more and more into vanity sizing. I'm usually a 6 in other brands, and a 4 used to fit me at AE just a big snug, but since then I've had to downsize to a 2. After wearing these for a bit they have stretched out a ton and now I feel like I'll have to buy a 0? Which is crazy considering I am 5'5", 140 lbs and have a 27" waist. I wish they would be more consistent with their sizing! The curve fit is great but constantly downsizing is annoying.

Ordered a pair of curvy mom jeans last year and was in love with them! Purchased them in a size 8 and they fit me perfectly while having a decent amount of stretch to them. I recently bought a pair of these in the EXACT same size and they wouldn’t even go past my hips. Very confused as the last pair fit perfectly?? Wished American eagle was consistent in their sizing, they say “stretch” on the tag but there is very minimal stretch. Definitely size up in these if your hips are bigger than your waist

I loved the way they made my butt look but it made me look like I had a spare tire in the front… was very unflattering if you don’t have a completely flat stomach.

I have these jeans already that I bought a few months ago in the same size and style/color. I decided to order another pair because I loved them so much. The second pair I got is like it was made out of a different material. There is no stretch at all and the waist sizes are different than the other pair I own.

Overall, I like the ways these jeans fit, but they weren't what I was expecting. These were the first pair of AE jeans I've ever bought, so I wasn't quite sure what size to order. I usually have some difficulty with sizing in jeans because I have an hourglass figure, and jeans that fit in the hips are always too loose in the waist. I wasn't sure whether to size down for these because they were curvy fit or size up because people have said in a lot of the reviews that they fit small. In most places, I'm a size 6 or in some instances even a 4, but in this case, since they were my first pair from AE, I decided to just follow the size chart and get an 8 (actually, the size chart said I should be somewhere between an 8 and a 10). In spite of that, these jeans definitely fit very loose on me everywhere: the hips, the legs, and very much the waist. I'm someone who will often size up because I like a loose fit, but I didn't do that here and these still ended up WAY looser than I expected. I also think it's important to point out that I bought another pair of curvy jeans in a different style in that same order, also in size 8, and those ones fit snug, so there seems to be a real sizing inconsistency here. I decided to keep the jeans, and after a few wears, I still mostly like the loose look of them, even though it wasn't what I was expecting. A tiny part of me is still wishing I'd exchanged them for a smaller pair. That being said, they're a nice, comfortable pair of jeans that I would definitely recommend if you manage to find the right size. Both the rise and the length fit well, despite my height being on the short side at 5'3". However, if I were to order them again, I would definitely size down one or two sizes.

I ordered black pair and those fit fine. Then I ordered the blue pair and they are significantly smaller even though I ordered the same size. I will be returning that pair

Agreeing with another review about inconsistent sizing - I have these jeans in black and they fit perfectly, loved them so much decided to get them in this color, got the same size and yet these fit a little more snug. I do really love the black ones so disappointed with the inconsistency in sizing.

I was so glad to see a pair of curvy jeans that aren't ripped up! Sadly, I'm returning my pair. I agree with the other reviews in that there seems to be a sizing inconsistency with these jeans. I wear a 10 Long in any AE style. I have loved the curvy line because my hips are significantly bigger than my waist. Unfortunately, these jeans fit me like standard, non-curvy jeans do. Fitted in the bottom with a HUGE waist gap. I'm going to try to size down, but I'm afraid the bottom will be too tight. Wish I had ordered 2 pairs of 10 Longs because maybe one of them would have fit!

Bought 12 long and returned it because it was slightly loose. Bought 10 long and it was considerably smaller than the 12, smaller than the 10 reg I tried in store and smaller than the 10 long in the ripped version if this jean. Photo is the new pair laid on top of the same size in the ripped knee version. There’s a good inch of difference. Maybe this pair is a fluke but I don’t love it.

I loved the fit of these jeans. And they look great from the front. In the back however, the pockets are placed too high. Wish they were a lot lower.

These definitely are not as stretchy as the other pair of curvy mom jeans I own. The other pair (dark gray) fit perfectly, these, not so much. These are tight in the waist area and are not comfortable. I would listen to reviews and size up.

There's almost no stretch to these jeans, so they run a lot smaller than their typical curvy mom jeans :( I have three other pairs of curvy mom jeans, all in size 10 and they fit a lot better. Make sure to size up if you get this pair!

My only complaint is that this pair does not have as much stretch as the other curvy mom jeans. I always get a 14 x-long in jeans from AE but these fit snug around the waist which makes them kind of uncomfortable. I would recommend going up a size.

Idk what has happened with AE's sizing but everything seems to run big now. I usually order a 4 in jeans from AE, which used to fit perfectly, until the past couple of orders I've made. So, I decided to get a size 2 to be on the safe side this time. The size 2 was too big when I got this pair of jeans! Totally disapointed. Will most definitely be sending them back.

I really wish they would write in the description whether you can expect to find rips and tears. This distressed look is getting old. You have to examine the pictures very carefully to find the rips and tears. A little hard on a mobile device. I was hoping to have a pair of pants with no rips.

I expected too much from this but it was too big for me on the hips and legs but too tight on the waist. I had to return it.

These are the only pair of curvy jeans I've bought in my size that didn't fit. I had to order online and wait and disappointed they didn't fit.

Very disappointed in these curvy mom jeans. They don’t have any stretch at all even given it’s in the name… these feel like wearing a pair of used Levi’s. I sized up thinking that would make a difference and it didn’t for me. Usually love AE jeans but this was a flop. :(

I ordered the AE Stretch Ripped (same jeans but ripped) in the same size and those fit but these were a full size too small. I reordered in a 20 and am waiting for that to arrive but it is disappointing to see such a huge size discrepancy in the same store, let alone the same jeans. I ordered a long for the new ones, thinking q little length to cuff for fall over boots will he cute.

These are the first pair of mom jeans I have tried on, and these are going right back. I love my butt, yet wearing these makes me hate it. It's just not flattering. Maybe I'm not the right body shape for this look.... But from every angle i cringe. I'll stick to boyfriend and cross my fingers that a pair without lots of rips comes out soon. outside of just how they look on me, they are a thick denim material, with no streatch. High waist. The quality seems good.
