AE Stretch Tomgirl Jean

These are a nice surprise. I have a bunch of Tomgirls from various years. Some are thin, some are thick, some had more stretch some had less, most are size 8 but one was a size 10. My all time faves were from about 6 years ago..they were lightweight and had the right amount of stretch. These are similar to that!! I purchased 8 regular in these which is exactly what I ordered all those years ago. To be honest, I also ordered a size 10 in these and I think they actually fit smaller than the 8...go figure. The rise is HIGH not low. Probably higher than I wanted but totally ok.They do stretch out quite a bit so keep that in mind. They are oh so comfy..For reference: I am 5'7" and about 168 pounds with an athletic build. These are AWESOME jeans and I am happy the designers made these like the older Tomgirl style. Yay!!!

I always order 6 Short, but when it comes to Tom Girl jeans, I order 4 Short. And it was right this time too. It's not tight. It's loose. This jean is thiner than the other normal jeans. I think it's great for hot weather.

I didn't plan on ordering these because I already bought another pair of stretch tomgirls that were a little disappointing and stiff. These are super soft, the fit is amazing and reminds me of the original tomgirls and are so comfortable. I guess you could say these run large, but they are just not as stiff and restricting as other fits usually are and are super comfortable in my normal size.

Got them in the mail and i didn’t like them as much as i did in the store.

I bought these in a6 which is my usual size and they were too big. I exchanged to a 4 and they fit good! I only wish they weren’t button fly. #AEReviewSweepsEntry

Pros: - thinner than other AE jeans - great for summer - fabric is soft with the perfect amount of stretch - cut is flattering and comfortable Cons: - described as low rise but they hit me at the belly button (even though I ordered “short”) - Button closure - inconvenient and adds bulk around the stomach. Rather than just one layer of fabric over a zipper like in normal jeans, there are buttons built into one layer of fabric which button into another layer PLUS another layer covering the front of the buttons. The buttons and extra layer make my stomach look bigger than normal and increase the bulky feeling especially when sitting down.

So, I originally ordered my usual size 10. They fit in the waist but as the other reviewer mentioned, the belly area stuck out making it an unflattering pouch look. I then ordered the 8 and it fit perfectly in the waist and the belly area. The rise just covers my belly button so more of a mid rise. I like that they aren’t a skin tight crop.

Under the Size & Fit section it says they are low rise, but they are not. They definitely hit at my waist. Also, these have a button-fly that was not mentioned. The button-fly doesn't lay flat and makes it look like you have a stomach pooch.
