AE Ne(x)t Level High-Waisted Jegging

I love the feel and colour of this jean. I got my usual size at AE - size 4 short - and found that it fit as expected. I would've given this 5 stars but the jeans came with a STRONG chemical smell. I tried it on initially in-store and ended up buying online, but both times the chemical smell was there. I washed it twice in cold water when I first got it, but the smell was still there. Vinegar worked slightly better but didn't completely eliminate it. I found pre-soaking the jeans in a basin with vodka and cold water before washing to be the most effective. I wish caring for these wasn't so labour-intensive but I do love how it looks and wears.

I absolutely love American eagle jeans. These ones in particular fit me so well and they are very comfortable. The only issue I have with these jeans is that when I received them, they smelled like moth balls. I assumed that after a few washes there would no longer be a smell but I was wrong. I have had these jeans for about 9 months now and the smell is still there. It's not as bad as it used to be but, because of it, I only wear these jeans when I'm outdoors. I will be purchasing them again only because I love the fit and the jeans themselves but I am disappointed in AE!

I’m actually a little disappointed with this recent purchase. I bought them about a week ago and when I went to wear them, I found holes on the right side. I don’t have the receipt and i’m not sure how we can fix this. They haven’t even been worn yet and i’m not sure what I can do to return them, or at least figure something out. I love this store and have never had any problems with purchases. I would even recommend it to others! Hopefully there is a way we can fix this. Thank you!

I really like the jegging. First time I have bought them. I am not a fan of the high waist. I will buy more just not high waist =)

GREAT colour but it is a bit too high waisted for my liking.

I LOVED these when I first got them in Dec 2019 but now they have already started to wear thin in the inner thigh area :( in fact all of my recent AE jean purchases don’t last beyond 3 months :( so sad as I used to love this brand... it’s like disposable clothing now :( funny because I have AE jeans from 2012 that are still perfect! Guess they’ve changed their manufacturing standards

I love all the jeans I have purchased from American Eagle. I bought this pair in store. Once bringing them home I noticed a strong moth ball smell. I have washed them 3 times and cannot get the smell out. Pretty bummed that I haven’t been able to even wear them :(

i Love the colour but the sizing is off for me.. I always wear a four in as jeans but these are a bit loose and loose the purpose of a skinny jeans.

I love how they fit, my favorite jeans but they don't seem to last very long for the price. The thigh area rips really fast, my pair only lasted 2 months. Im noticing all the jeans I buy from AE don’t last long on me :( I’ll recommend AE only to those who’s thighs don’t rub together.

I got a size 8 short I’m 5’ 6” 150lbs with a bit of a booty. When I put these on they fit soooo nice like a glove. After only wearing them for a few hours and playing with kids they got baggy so fast! I’m a bit disappointed cause they were so perfect.

I purchased these jean in 4 short, and the size was perfect. I loved the color and the fit. But one thing I couldn’t get over... the smell!!! I ordered online and they came smelling so bad. I love all 3 of the AE jeggings I own, they fit so well, are incredibly flattering, and are the perfect length - plus the comfort! But they smell awful! Even after washing, I think they’ve actually gotten worse. They aren’t as bad as another pair I got but I don’t know what to do! I love the jeans and have already worn/washed but I can’t handle the smell.

Every single pair of AE jeans I have bought in the past 6 months have had holes within a month, and this pair was no exception. It’s unfortunate because this has been my go-to brand for years, but the quality has gone down in the past couple years. #AEReviewSweepsEntry

Fit more like a med/low rise & were a tad bit too short on me and I’m 4’11. I don’t have a long torso, so if you do I would skip these. #AEReviewSweepsEntry

I’m normally a 14 but this Next Level Stretch makes them almost a whole size too big. Doesn’t hold shape like normal

I really like the feel and wash of these jeans, the length is perfect and it fits comfortably around my hips and waist. I'm aware that I'm a smaller person compared to more voluminous girls that look killer in the new curvy jeans but I've always been a 0R in A&E jeans and I've had to move down a size to a 00R just to make them fit around my legs. If there's one thing in this world about jeans that I can't deal with, it's baggy knees in a pair of skinny or super skinny jeans. I can't stand having all that extra material around my knees, it's physically uncomfortable throughout my day either going to classes or going out with friends where I'm constantly pulling them straight only to go back to being baggy after I walk around or sit down. It's like I have a short dress or skirt on and I really don't want to feel like that when I throw on jeans for the day. #AEReviewSweepsEntry

These jeans were too long for my liking. And I got a size 6 regular which is my size on the site. But other then the leg length, the color was very flattering.

I normally order a size 2 in regular and there isnt a lot of loose jean rumpled up in the bottom, but this one seems much more loose all in all. I know i didnt change in size bc i bought another jean and it fits fine. I suggest maybe change the length to one down. #AEReviewSweepsEntry

Great fitting jeans, a little stinky washed them twice before wearing and were ok. Fits great color good.

These are good jeans but they fit much tighter on me than other AE jeans. I usually wear a 0 or 2, these I went up to a 4 because they fit so tightly in the legs for me. They stretch A LOT though. After 2 wears they’ll need to be washed and dried. I’m not that fond of this super stretchy material for this reason. They definitely aren’t my favorite jeans but they’re pretty comfortable! #AEReviewSweepsEntry

They fit great. They r so comfy too. The only thing is they r very bright blue.

These are so cute and comfortable. Only downside is that they are off-gassing and smell so toxic like cheap clothes directly from the factory. I have washed them twice and I can't get the smell to go away. Might have to throw them out it's so nasty.

I bough these pants short, and normally your brand of jeans fit just right when bought short on me. But these pants were long! I had to role them up twice. Also they did not hug me at all! They keep falling down!

The color is not great and the fit is horrible. Stretch is one thing but I went down a size and they are still falling off. I wrote you you because the store said they would not return then and you said to take them to the store. Usually LOVE my AE JEANS! Not so much this time!

I absolutely loved these jeans when I got them. Looked exactly like the picture and fit perfect. However, I bought these jeans in February and it's April now; and my jeans have already torn where my thighs rub together when I walk. Literally had these for two months and they are worthless; unless I get crafty and make them into shorts or something. Now I've got thick thighs and the ripping of jeans is something I've come to accept but considering the price, I would've hoped they would last at least a year. Super disappointed.
