Aerie Real. Period.® Underwear

After looking at the size guide and seeing that it suggested sizing up because these run small, I decided to go with the xl because I always buy my underwear in size large for comfort. I had bought a pair of thinx period panties at my local drugstore in a size large and they were pretty tight. After trying the aerie size xl on I found that they were too big and I don't think they would have been adeqiate for sleeping in without leaking which is why I bought them. I gave tjem to a friend to try and I think I'll repurchase in size large. #AEReviewSweepsEntry

I haven't washed these yet for my daughter but they appear to run a little large. Since she's still growing, so I'm not too worried but that may impact someone else who is at their fixed size. Fabric is super soft!

I am normally in between a large and a medium for bottoms, but tend to size up for comfort. I dozed up and In this case that was a mistake! These run large and will certainly be less discrete. Size down!!

I love that period undies are becoming a norm. These are very comfortable. The size and material exceeded my expectations. The issues I have with these is that the absorbent material stops half way up my bottom creating a very defined line. I may just end up wearing these for bedtime because of this. Maybe the design can be changed so that the material reaches the top of the waist band or stops at the end of the crotch.

I’m sure these serve the purpose quite well (though I bought these for running rather than full-blown period panties), but my god are they unflattering. I have a completely average BMI (21), but slap these bad boys on and the teeny waistband and elasticized leg holes make me look like I gained 15 pounds! I feel I purchased the right size as there’s plenty of coverage, perhaps even too much coverage, but these create instant rolls in my sides and thighs. Our moods can be off enough as is during that time of the month, the last thing my self-esteem needs is some judgey elastic making me feel bad about myself.

They are well made and function properly, the only bad thing is the design is a little weird in the back part and it is not a easy to wash as other period panties. #AEReviewSweepsEntry

I have only worn these once so far, but I will say that they are pretty comfortable! I don't think they feel overly bulky like some other reviews said they felt. The material is soft, and the waistband isn't too tight. Unfortunately, nothing Aerie could do about this, but you do have to wash them after every wear, so if your plan on wearing them multiple days of your period, buy a few pairs or be prepared to do laundry every day!

Every review I read said these ran sO hUGe so I went a size down and they’re too small - mainly where the elastic is. Maybe they fixed sizing issues?! Going to reorder in my normal medium and hope for the best. The packaging they came in is excessive and annoying and just plain greenwashing.

I like it and will still definitely use it, it’s just a little on the thick side. So it kinda has a diapery look too it when you wear it under pants or leggings. Since it is of a thicker and no leak material, it tends to make ya sweat. When I mean sweat I mean sweat sweat, I wore this under my clothes to the store and by the time I got back home I was dripping. Okay I know tmi but lemme tell you just wear this at home. Those period days when you just wanna be at home. I love how it doesn’t leak through though which some period underwears do, so I mean it does what it’s supposed to.

The print is cute the material is nice the pad part doesn’t feel too thick you cnt see it even when wearing leggings. The rise is very low front and in the back (one wrong move butt crack is out! ) Size wise I wear a large in aerie undies and a size 10/12 in jeans. Sizing up would of been too loose Maybe a higher rise.

I love that period underwear is offered, but I hate the cut of these and that there aren't more styles - I like to sleep in them, and a boyshort would be much more comfortable. I wouldn't wear these out of my house, the panty line is strong. Being able to skip tampons at home is nice and feels less wasteful.

I ordered my regular Aerie undies size and they fit fine. However, the absorbent part is bulky, almost saggy. Not a cute fit. I use them to sleep, but I wouldn't go outside in them.

I didn’t have super high expectations for this. While it’s not the worst, it’s certainly not the best. They run at least a size too big. Works fine for night time periods but is extremely unflattering and would look weird underpants times go outside in public.

I am still on the hunt for period underwear that work for me. I loved Aerie's underwear, and when I saw they now did period undies as well, I thought I might as well try them out for myself! I ordered my usual underwear size, medium, and they fit as expected. The material is really soft, the waistband isn't too tight, overall I was impressed. Unfortunately they are quite bulky compared to other brands of period underwear and only come in one cut currently. They feel much like a diaper to me, I wouldn't be comfortable wearing them out, but they are perfect for at home especially overnight due to how far back that "pad" material goes!

The liner was thicker and bigger than expected. Felt a little like a diaper. I thought the liner would be between the legs but it almost went all the way up the back.

Definitely not meant for heavier days (my flow is slightly above average - I wear a size 2) and the fit is slightly larger than the size I usually buy from aerie so I woke up with a spot of blood on my sheets. I think they're worth a try for 10$ a piece because everyone is different, I was just really hopeful and ended up disappointed.

When I put them on I loved the fit and comfort but they didn't hold up. I really wanted to like these so I can use pads less but I went to bed in these and they completely leaked the next morning. At first glance I thought the coverage would be good because it covers a larger area in the back but honestly the one I got from victoria's secret (boyshort) worked better. The whole crotch area overflowed. I guess the good thing is that all the blood came out when I rinsed them in the sink so no stains. My pajama pants though... #AEReviewSweepsEntry

Big, bulky, and saggy. I’m between a small and medium in AE undies depending on the style so I stuck with my regular small thinking it would be fine since others said they ran big. Wrong. They are still too big. The butt sags horribly. It feels like you’re wearing 2 different garments and the bottom one is falling off. No matter what I do or how I try to adjust, the seem across the back where the regular underwear material meets the period material sags down and it’s a very uncomfortable feeling. This is the first period underwear I’ve ever bought so I was very excited to wear on light days instead of liners but I wish I didn’t get them. I would rather wear a pad than these. Maybe they would have fit better if I sized down. Too late now :( #AEReviewSweepsEntry

I was expecting them to be a bit thicker as they are for periods but this is ridiculous they are so thick and they make a sound of you move in them it is honestly like a diaper I would rather use literally anything else for my period.

So first, I like how the pad goes further than most period underwearI ordered 3 pairs. Easy to wash. I let mine air dry.. I used them on a light day and I STILL felt wet..I didn't leak, but it seems as if the underwear don't absorb. I don't know if id feel comfortable using them on my medium days. im on a birth control so my periods aren't super heavy..but I can't shake the wet feeling and immediately took them off and rinsed them and washed them. You'd think that they would absorb the blood and not be "wet feeling"?? I guess not. So I don't know.. I might just use them for overnight since the pad is so long in the back in case if I were to ever leak.They also get sweaty easily if you are outside if you live in a hot climate so that's not fun either. Sizing is good, true to size for me. not much cheek coverage though as previous reviewers stated. also the thigh fabric rolls up and found myself having to roll it back down and waistband is a little weird fabric? like sticky almost? I don't know how to describe it. But I would prob use these with a pad and just keep them for overnights. Don't know if id purchase again, but good pricing though haha.

Please make it wider... it's like they kept the XS crotch on the mediums I ordered. Not very effective or "safe" feeling when they're trying to floss my fupa.

Not that period underwear you sleep in are supposed to be the most flattering, but still! The rise does not seem high enough. The elastic waistband just kind of digs in and cuts you off. Some people said they fit large but I don’t think so. The thickness of them seems comfortable though! Would maybe try a larger size, but not sure if it’s worth it

I wore this in addition to a tampon because my flow is pretty heavy and I work at a school and don't always have the option of getting to the bathroom right away to change my tampon. By the end of the day it had bled through the sides and leaked onto my jeans. It may be that I need a smaller size, since others mentioned that they felt you should size down. I'm going to give them another try and see if I have better luck. I didn't really feel like they were all that bulky and they felt comfortable except for after they leaked.

First off, these work. There is no doubt about it. They are absorbent and the lining goes far enough up the back where I felt confident they wouldn't leak. I wore them on Day 1-2 of my period (my heaviest days) and they did great overnight. I probably wouldn't choose to use them for daytime wear because they are a bit bulky and diaper-y feeling, but I didn't mind that for sleeping. That being said, there are a few fit issues I had with these. The leg openings are a strange cut. It's almost like these are "cheeky" cut, which makes no sense for period panties; that just seems unnecessary for this specific product. I would have preferred a hipster cut or something with more booty coverage. The elastic on the leg openings is kind of scratchy and uncomfortable. I would have preferred a softer elastic on the legs. There is also an uncomfortable seam on both sides (hips) that is bulky and digs into my skin. I did not think they ran that large, as other reviewers mentioned. I would say closer to a half size too big. Each of these issues isn't a deal breaker in and of themselves, but the conjunction of all three makes me not reach for them in my drawer. For the price point, I can't be mad and they were worth a shot. If you are looking for budget period underwear, these are great. If you are looking for something you will absolutely love, these may not be it.
