Happy with my purchase!
This is my first pair of period undies and I am very pleased with them so far. They are definitely thicker than normal underwear but thats to be expected. My period is usually on the lighter side and I have had no leaks so far. I am curious to see how these do in the long run after multiple washes. #AEReviewSweepsEntry

Good option to use with cups, stick with the black
4 years ago
I quite liked these. I am between a L/XL depending on fit and cut (large hips, large butt, smaller waist.) The large was secure with good coverage particularly in the rear-- I'd actually like a bit more coverage up the front. I wore with jeans (high rise), and solo during sleep. My only suggestion would be to go with the black. I bought the gray so I could just go into my dresser drawer and identify them (I have loads of black undies), but they're going to stain-- they didn't run while in use, but while pre-rinsing per wash instructions, I noticed it came through to the gray fabric. That being said, I'm fairly pleased with the product and appreciate the versatility the option provides me in addition to my cup.

I have used the cup for a while now but I still use liners on some days. I bought this to reduce my consumption of liners. They are a bit lower rise than I expected and a bit heavier also. But comfortable and do the job. #AEReviewSweepsEntry

Workable
These are great for the price but the design could be better. The liner is thick and can be seen under jeans if they are too tight, but I don’t worry about that so much. They are great for most days, but on my heaviest day after 12 hrs it bleed through. The washing is a hassle, you’ll have to buy enough to wear everyday so you don’t have to keep doing laundry. They run large but not enough to go down a size, they would be too tight to be comfortable then. I’d like to see more cute designs and colors, fix the fitting issues, and make it a little more thin and they’d be golden. Also the lining goes all the way up in the back which is a little unnecessary. Overall, I still prefer these to a pad (I can’t wear tampons) so this is a great alternative, and cheap enough for me, I’ll probably look into other brands but this was a great place to start. #AEReviewSweepsEntry

An honest review
I've had an IUD for the last 16 years, so I haven't had a period in 16 years. I just had my last one removed, so now I'm on the hunt for all the cool new products. Any period device outside of pads and tampons are all new to me, and so I'm trying them all out to see what I like.
That's where this pair of undies comes in. I was skeptical, so I only ordered 1 pair. I was unsure of size, so I ordered the XL since I'm 5'8" 200lbs. The size is a bit big. I had to tug at them a few times throughout the day, but it wasn't a big deal. I know to go for the L on my next order. Four stars for sizing.
They definitely kept everything dry, much better than a pad. Zero leakage. Zero transfer. Zero mess. Zero smell. I was quite surprised. Five stars for practicality.
The only downside I found was I felt like I was wearing a diaper. They're a bit thick. They definitely show outlines through leggings and yoga pants. Three stars for fit.
Overall, I'm happy with my purchase. I will purchase more. I definitely recommend them.

The fabric on these are really thick and feels like it might be warm. It's not what I was expecting, but I guess that's a good thing as it shouldn't have any leaks then

not too shabby
I can see why some people were calling this a diaper. The gussett comes up awkwardly high in the back, while not quite high enough in the front. And the backside isn't quite wide enough which can lead to some bunching or sagging in the rear. The elastic around the legs is also a bit tight, but I'm guessing this is to help control leaks. Still, I think I will keep it. It's hard to find period underwear for this price, especially in soft cotton - most other brands seem to make them out of gross synthetics which pollute the environment and irritate the skin. Plus it's hard to beat the price. And the waist comes up higher in the back than it does in the front which is ideal. I normally wear TomboyX First Line boyshorts, but the higher gussett on these will help on heavier days.

I haven’t gotten the chance to try these on my period yet, but I washed them and tried them on and they got and feel great. They are comfortable and based on the thickness of them I think there will be no problem on my period. I love sustainable options. #AEReviewSweepsEntry

Pretty Good but THICC
Overall, the underwear is great for those medium to light days, especially for overnight. However, I don't like where the thick absorbent material ends. It ends higher than the butt crack, which makes sense for overnights but its an awkward spot to wear during the day. I kept feeling like the underwear was slipping down but it was actually just the absorbent layer line. This is also the first period underwear I have tried so maybe I am just not used to the thickness of the lining but it did feel a bit like wearing a diaper. Although, still better than a traditional pad that is just a sticky pain and moves and gets scrunched throughout the day! Also wish the patterns/colours were a little more appealing.

Feel nice!
I just got these so I haven't put them to the test yet. I'm 5'1, 115-120lbs and border between size small and medium but normally order medium for Aerie undies. I saw a review that said these run big so I ordered small. These fit nice and snug which I want.
The thing that's a little weird is there's a definite line between where the absorptive part is and the regular underwear is. The absorptive part is quite thick. It's not uncomfortable though.

Not bad.
I got this in my usual underwear size, small. When I first opened them I thought they were huge, but after I put them on, they fit the way they should. These are great for at home and overnights, I wouldn't wear them out because I don't like panty lines showing and people seeing my underwear, and these are a bit on the bulky side. But since I am home like 90% of the time anyway, these are great. So far they haven't leaked and I find them to be a great alternative to wearing tampons on most days. I will be buying more once they are back in stock. #AEReviewSweepsEntry

A Pretty Good Product!
I found these to be pretty comfortable, however the absorbent section does cover a large portion of the back of the underwear and I can see how this would be undesirable to some. It isn't super necessary to me but I think for those with a really heavy flow, it would be really helpful.
Also I normally wear a size M in full coverage Aerie undies (size 4 AE jeans) and ordered a small in these, and they fit perfectly, so definitely recommend sizing down if in doubt.

Kinda big but not sure if that’s right
Bought these to be part of my post partum line up. Really can’t give a good test now as ya know I ain’t got anything flowing
I can speak about the fit though.
I usually wear small cheekie underwear and these fit loser than the cheekies.
The waist feels ok but I feel like if added some weight to the crotch that it might start sagging.
The front pad coverage is not as low for me as others have suggested. I think everyone is built different.
I think these are def worth a try. I specially got the grey because I wanted to see when a leakage happens.

Pros and cons comp. to thinx
they are bigger than aerie regular undies but aren’t as stretchy so it’s ok. They are super comfortable like the regular undies though, more comfy than thinx I think. They have more absorbency in the butt area so would be good for nighttime. I wish there was more in the front though. I tend to be a forward-leaker during the day and this brings the blood riiiiight up to the edge of the padding which makes me a little nervous but there haven’t been any leaks yet. I think the thinx felt drier than these. That’s my biggest con, they just feel kind of damp all day and really need a layer of stay-dry material or something. It makes me feel self conscious like I’ve got a leak. But they are $19.99 instead of $39 so that makes them a lot more accessible.

Got a Small based on the reviews (I’d normally wear a medium) and they fit perfectly! They do make a different noise when you walk because of the material used, but it’s not a deal breaker. #AEReviewSweepsEntry

Great option for period underwear
I haven't worn these through my period yet, so I can't comment on the absorbency. However, I was impressed with the quality of the underwear, and I like that the pad extends so far in the back. It makes them perfect for overnight, though I'm not sure I'd wear them with fitted pants.
They seemed quite large when I opened them, but the fit over the hip and waist is pretty good (tbh I don't really want the top of the underwear to cut into my stomach when I'm swollen and crampy). I suspect that they cut this style a little larger than other Aerie undies because the absorbent part doesn't stretch as much as regular fabric.
Anyways, excited to use them and would love to see Aerie make another cut with less padding in the bum for daytime (thong or cheeky).

Very thick, not sure if I like them
I am in love with the idea, but I just received my pair and they are very thick, and would definitely be noticeable under any pair of pants. I just purchased period underwear from Knix, as they are marketed as very thin. I know that being absorbent requires many layers but these feel like a diaper. I also would like to see other styles such as bikini or cheeky cut. Other companies also offer thongs.

Pretty good, comfortable period underwear
4 years ago
I've tried a few different period underwear brands and was excited to try this one!
Pros - very soft, comfortable, affordable. Decent shape and cut.
Cons - I'm not sure if this is a con but they aren't really "boy cut", they're more like a bikini or traditional brief cut. I also feel like the leakproof lining goes too far up the back and not far enough at the front. This could just be personal preference though. For me, things tend to go more forward than back, especially at night. I'd almost prefer if the lining went all the way up the back and front rather than stopping halfway up the back which feels a bit weird.
On the whole, these are very comfortable and a good entry into period underwear. There is definitely room to improve, but I find these much more breathable than my Knix pairs, which is a big plus. Hopefully they last well!

I am 5'4 165 lbs and wear a L. The fabric looks comfy and is soft. A little thicker than regular underwear, similar to a bathing suit. I thought they were just extra high rise, but they are way too big. Here's my regular underwear- costco organic cotton (size L) compared to aerie period underwear (size L).

Runs slightly bigger and material is very thick
2 years ago
I've never tried any period underwear until this one, so I don't really have any item to compare to. But this one was very very thick compared to a "normal" underwear. It runs slightly bigger, but I'm not sure if it's to provide more coverage in case of spillage, which can be appreciated. I've worn this three times now, and every time I wear it, I feel like I'm wearing a diaper lol. I feel like the photos made them seem a lot more lightweight than they actually are. BUT it definitely does its job - I've had my doubts but I haven't had any leaks or issues in that area. The only thing I will say is that if you're looking for a period underwear that is lightweight and discreet, this may not be the one for you. But if you're looking for a period underwear that makes you feel secure? Then this def does the job. #AEReviewSweepsEntry

Now in reality these are period panties and im not about to go strut around for everyone to see. However I still want to feel cute, even during my period. To put it bluntly, I feel like im wearing little boys underwear. That may be cool with some people, but as a thong girly on a normal day, these are just not for me. They are saggy in the bum area even when pulled up all the way. Very low waisted on me and im only 5'4. I wont be purchasing these again thats for sure. Looking forward to what other styles they put out in the future as I am still a big Aerie fan other wise.
