Maybe Period Panties just aren't for me

These fit nicely and are soft. These are the first period panties I've bought and was pretty excited about them. I'm not sure if this is normal for period underwear, but they are so thick and hot. I get so sweaty when I'm wearing them. I also feel like there is an obvious smell from them at the end of the day. Even when I'm using them with a menstruation cup or tampon so not much blood is even getting on to them? But perhaps this is all period underwear? Anyways, I definitely won't buy anymore of this brand.

Feels like a diaper

I’m usually a size 14-16, so I ordered an XL (16-18) thinking they would be comfortably loose, except they’re snug. They also feel like I’m wearing a diaper because the fabric is so thick, especially at the hem along my cheeks. These would probably show through jeans. They don’t come up nearly as high as I would like either, my thongs seem to come up higher on me.

Leaked through :/

I wanted to love these. I wore them on my heaviest day and after about 2 hours they were leaking straight through the fabric. I kind of hope I've just received an off pair, but I don't think I can trust these on heavy days if they only last 2 hours. Will still be useful for the lighter days at least. I agree with other reviewers that these run large and sizing down one size is a good idea. I bought an XL (my usual size) and a L and I tried both. The XL is too loose for any type of actual flow, but I'll be able to use it for spotting at the end of my period or before it starts for extra protection. The L fits well enough to stop side leaks, but sadly like I said, the pair I received was leaking through the middle of the fabric after 2 hours. :/ #AEReviewSweepsEntry

Swing and a miss....

I have been wanting to try out period protection undies for some time now. I have been heavily debating the Knix undies, but just haven’t been able to bring myself to spend the money. I was happy to see aerie came out with a version, which was much more affordable to try out. Sadly, these undies don’t do it for me. My initial impression when i took them out of the packaging was that they were basically an adult diaper...once on, they weren’t as bulky as anticipated, but definitely NOT discreet. You can see seams through jeans. They also have weird seams...the cut of the waistband is a little higher than a typical aerie boybrief, but the seam of where the protective layer sits cuts right across your butt and left me with a feeling that my underwear were constantly ridding down during the day. I have now worn these to sleep, during the day, and even while on a run. Overall i think i will continue to wear these to bed, but that’s about it. Absorbency was fine - I have an extremely light period so I wasn’t overly concerned about that to begin with.

Fit is way off

I was excited to see Aerie making a pair of period underwear and I really wanted to like these. However they do not fit at all like the rest of aeries underwear. They are much larger and did not stay in place, which did not give me much confidence that they will not leak. The seam on the leg openings also dug in while sleeping which was really uncomfortable.

Runs big

Cons: Absolutely huge. Ordered them in my usual medium for Aerie undies, and they were so much wider and longer. I attached a photo for the size difference. Pros: The absorbent layer goes a lot further around the butt than Knix does, so they'd be good for overnight wear.

Feel fat and unattractive

Been on a weight loss journey and these run small. I feel like a can of biscuits bursting out of these and when you think you bought your size and are bloated, this ain’t it. I feel like I can’t even bend over without these folding up on me.

Worst period underwear

I have 2 pair of period underwear from another company and they work really well. I have worn these for just a couple hours and they are leaking profusely. Don’t waste your money.

Grandma sizing and feels like a diaper

Absolutely horrible! DO NOT BOTHER BUYING. The sizing is horrific. I ordered several pairs of the standard cotton boy shorts in size large. When you hold the two next to each other the period underwear is a XXXL in comparison. They are also aggressively high rise like granny panties and THICK like a diaper. I was expecting slightly thick, quick drying type underwear based off the description. Not at all what arrived. Do not waste your money, this underwear is a complete failure!

A woolly diaper for your heavy days

I got these in the summer, and am a fan of other brands of period undies. When I got them I couldn't believe how poorly they compare. They are thick and do not breathe and are way too hot for me to wear in the summer. You're better off wearing disposable pads.

These are not good!

These underwear are essentially a bulky boy brief. They are not period-proof, and have bled through both times I’ve worn them, and I do not even use them on heavy flow days. They do not stay up on the waist, so mostly they just feel like a non-absorbent diaper.

Diaper

This was my first time trying period underwear, but I'm not a fan of the diaper feel. Feels like a maxi pad throughout the underwear.

not absorbent

I wore these for 4 hours before it started to bleed through the sides of the bottom and my flow was not heavy at all. I was left with stained pants (post-wash) and an overheated blow dryer from trying to clean out the stain on my chair. Super unhappy with the absorbency. It's hard to believe it holds up to 2 tampons because I feel like a pantyliner would've done a better job.

Don’t bother!

Seams around legs are tight and dig into skin. After 2 hours I bled right through these, definitely not capable of handling heavy flow. Bulky in the back similar to a diaper, could not wear out as regular undies. Had good expectations for this, I am disappointed!

For night time use only

I really wanted these to work, but they didn’t. The pad is a size of a small diaper and rises high in the back. I would recommend these for night time use only. If the design changes to higher waist and smaller padding I’ll try them again.

Way too small

I’m usually a medium in aerie underwear, but I ALWAYS steer clear from elastic waistbands because I hate how tight they are on my hips. I’m all squish and it just hurts. Even the extra large size never works for me, and then the butt is too big, I just don’t bother. When I saw these, the waistband looked small enough and with all of the reviews saying how big they are, I figured it would be okay and my usual medium size would be fine. These are way too small for me, beyond uncomfortable. If I try to pull them up higher, they give me a wedgie and just roll right back down. I don’t know if I have a faulty pair, but maybe I should have gone with a large considering how much I bloat on my period anyway? I know the photo doesn’t do much justice and I understand not wanting leakage, but this was painful. Either way, I’m out my money and I can’t rate the absorption for you because these came right off and have to go in the trash because I washed the chemical smell out of them before putting them on. Such a waste for everyone involved. This is my fault for going with an elastic waistband when I knew those don’t work with my body. I’m 5’5” and 145lbs.

Feels like I'm wearing a diaper

They are thick and the part that I guess is supposed to absorb goes halfway up the back of the underwear. It's so uncomfortable and creates unnecessary lines.

You’re better off wearing a pad

These did not work for me at all! They are like big bulky underwear. I had a regular tampon in and still had a huge leak through to my jeans. I would never trust these underwear to protect you unless you are on the very last day of your period and it’s so late that you wouldn’t wear a tampon. Anything else in these will not work for you.

Bulky

Great idea but very thick and bulky, there is a seam across the bum that is visible though clothes. Definitely not something I’d wear out of the house. Could use some improvements.

Terrible Purchase

These fit and feel like what I imagine a diaper would feel like. You might as well wear a pad for how thick these are. There are much better versions of these from other companies that are comparable in price. While I adore Aerie loungewear, these are actually my first underwear purchase but I can only imagine these run large in comparison. Overall, very disappointing.

Smells like chemical and very thick

These reek of chemicals! Even after soaking them and washing by hand followed by machine wash and dry (as directed) they still stink horribly. They are also way thicker than expected. I was expecting something similar to nix wear but it’s the same feeling as wearing a very large thick pad.

Not my best purchase

When the product arrived they were large in appearance, upon putting them on they were baggy and uncomfortable. I tried them out for a day and all day I was pulling my underwear up. The padding inside was better than I expected for a period panty. I normally fit in a size 12 and these were very large.
