A little thick but not bad.

I’m someone who mainly uses this underwear as back up for a menstrual disc on heavy days and I’ll only bleed into these on the last day of my period which is a light day. I have not had any leaks. These are less expensive than some of the other brands which I have a few pairs of. These are also thicker than the other brands. Some people have described these as bulky. While I wouldn’t wear these with anything form fitting, the bulkiness won’t bother you too much if you find the right thing to wear with these.

Pretty good

Day 1 of period panties .. started on day 3 of cycle.. no spills, leaks, or odors. My thoughts at 2 to three panties per day. Very comfy and not bulky. Would love if it went over belly button. I were a size 16-18 and purchased the xxl. I could have purchased xl and still been good. Otherwise will give it an 8.

haven't used yet but would like better if cuter patterns, higher rise, not as wide on sides, higher protection in the front. good price when on sale. #AEReviewSweepsEntry

Absorbent but heavy

#AEReviewSweepsEntry The underwear absorbs well. I wasn’t worried about over flowing or bleeding through while wearing it. I took off a star because it feels heavy and you definitely know you’re wearing something.

Life Changing (Slightly TMI Review)

I have a bleeding disorder, and when I have my period this means I occasionally have to deal with a lot of extra blood. I have trouble sleeping with a tampon so I've always had to use a menstrual pad and sleep on top of a towel to try to prevent staining my bed and sheets. I also tend to end up staining many of my pairs of my pants, which is a constant struggle. When I saw these underwear, I thought I could maybe use them in conjunction with the usual pad rather than as a replacement, so I purchased two pair to give them a try. The next time I had my period, I woke up with more blood on my pad than I've seen in many years, but there wasn't a single drop on my towel or bed sheets. I immediately got up and washed out the underwear...they had absorbed SO much! I actually couldn't believe it, and I feel that there's a very good chance that with just the one use they've already saved that set of sheets. Apart from that, I really like the way they fit and feel. I usually buy in Medium and was a little afraid they'd be too snug, but AE seemed to fit them appropriately with regular sizing in mind. They don't feel like wearing a diaper but cling in just the right spots for me. Shape-wise they're a little larger than underwear that I usually wear but that's to be expected for what they do. My one issue is how they don't seem to dry evenly, as the material for the absorbent part is much thicker than the rest of the material, and I'm a little afraid I may end up either accidentally shrinking them or not drying them all the way through. I believe this is a tradeoff made for comfort, so I'm not necessarily bothered by it, but it does mean I have to put a little more care into drying them.

Best of All Brands!

I have tried several brands of period undies, and these are the best in my opinion! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because they were a little thick in the back for my taste. Absorbency is phenomenal and THEY ARE CUTE! That was a huge plus. #AEReviewSweepsEntry

A little diaper-y

The seam for the "pad" part is thick and runs horizontal across the middle of the butt so they can be a little bulky but the fabric is SO soft and I haven't had any problems with them so far.

This was my first time trying period undies and I'm not sure if they're all like this, but I found these a little bulkier than expected. Regardless they're still way more comfortable than a pad and worked well!

Definitely for lighter days

I'm really glad more brands are making period underwear because I'm a big fan of life without pads! These are really comfortable though they do run big; I bought a medium and it fits like a large, which is my usual size. I usually have light to medium periods, but after a full day it did start to leak. I'll keep wearing these but they don't absorb as much as some of my other period underwear.

A couple improvements from a big chalupa gurl.

To echo what some of the other reviewers have mentioned, these are great. They’re overall comfortable with good absorption, soft fabric, and they wash well. I do have a couple improvements to mention: 1: I’m a thicccccc gal with a belly and fully loaded chalupa, so it’d be awesome if these had fuller coverage in the front. The current style has a tendency to fall down, so a high-waisted option would be awesome. (I’m talkin’ granny pannies.) 2: With said fully-loaded chalupa, I tend to leak more towards the front than the back bc my booty cheeks stop the Red Sea like Moses after he and his people crossed. Soooo extra lining up front would be splendid. Kinda defeats the purpose to have to wear a pad in these to stop the front flow. Overall I’m super impressed and hope to be able to buy more pairs if these improvements are made.

Fit well like normal bikini style underwear. Did not wear on very heavy flow days but did great on lighter days. Can’t wait to try out again for heavier flow. #AEReviewSweepsEntry

Good but not as absorbent as I would have hoped

They fit really well and they are great for avoiding leaks by not shifting around. However for very heavy periods, I found after a bit they started leaking because they couldn't hold as much as some other reusable pads I had. Hoping they come out with some more varied styles that have more absorbency, but these are still useful to combine with re-useable pads to avoid leaks!

Price makes them great

I used these over night on day 2 of my period and they worked great. They were comfortable and I had no leaks. Down fall, I felt like they were stinky. I don’t know that I would wear them during the day because I would feel like I smell.

If ya got a booty do not size down

Y'all be telling me to size down but THIS BOOTY DON'T FIT. I'm a size 8-10 jean, med-lg Aerie undie. Based on these "size down" reviews and the size chart I'm a size medium, but I should have gotten a large. These are LOW WAIST undies, meaning if you have a dump truck you're going to see crack in the back when ordering your regular size. Two things would make these perfect: (1) make them higher waisted, and (2) bring the padding up higher in the front bc this is not going to work well for belly-sleepers. The material is high quality and they seem super well made. Washed well, too. Looking forward to wearing them, but wish I would have gotten a large. I'm a 31" waist, 37" hipbone, 41" booty. See photo for size comparison. Hope this helps someone. Love Aerie!

Good but wish there was more coverage in the front

I’ve used these twice now to sleep my heaviest days along with a menstrual cup and they were comfy, but I wish the absorbent material was extended more towards the front as I leaked more towards the front. Would still purchase again.

QC issue? One pair good, one pair bad.

I bought two pairs of these - one in the tan animal print and one in black. The black ones are great - they wear well, cover nicely, fit as expected. I don't notice them at all when wearing them, they worked well, and washed well, too. But the tan pair is terrible! I don't understand - same size, same product otherwise. But they feel MUCH bulkier than the black pair. I feel like I'm wearing a diaper in them, and like the padding bit comes much further up the backside than on the black pair. They bunch up around the cheeky bit and there is no way I could wear them under anything but jeans without them being super visible, because they are thick and lumpy. I would buy the black ones again in a minute, but now I'm not sure I want to because the tan pair is so bad. #AEReviewSweepsEntry

Found these to be much more comfortable than expected and thankfully didn't feel "dumpy" either. Maybe not as much cheek coverage as I normally like but they didn't slip around. Wore them on a regular flo day and night no leaks! #AEReviewSweepsEntry

Order your normal size

#AEReviewSweepsEntry pick your regular size, they might look bigger but they are same size as any aerie undies, of course they should be a little wider to cover everything and avoid spills. The only downside for me is that I feel them to tight over the waist band and the elastic on the leg openings but again I’m assuming it’s to avoid leaking. Very good quality (ordered my regular M size)

Mixed feelings

I wanted to give these period undies a try since I had already invested in their competition’s version, both having pros and cons. I think the overall flexibility/stretch ability of Aerie’s undies make for a more comfortable fit, the waistband is not cutting into you as much as the competition’s as well on your bloated crampy days. However, I read that the crotch was narrow and I could not agree more. Who wants to worry about potential leakage out the sides of the crotch. I showed my husband the two different brands side to side and he pointed that out immediately…just saying, if my hubby can see the flaw then I hope aerie may make the adjustments as needed. I would love to invest in this idea and in this company I love even more. Otherwise, the length and width of the built in pad (especially going up the backside of the undies) is much better than the other brand plus the added softness of aerie’s in comparison is far superior. I will have to wait for Aunt Flo to really put them to the test. #AEReviewSweepsEntry

WAY TOO BIG - Size down

I read the reviews before I bought two pairs and they were pretty split on the underwear being too big or too small. Since it was split I bought my regular size. When I opened the first pair I could tell right away that they were not mediums. Since I didn't open my second pair, I returned it and replaced it with a small. When you line up the small period underwear with a regular medium pair they are the same size. I give it 4/5 stars since I could not return the open box in stores (which I understand), but it should not need to have been done if they respected their sizing.

Mostly great!

I have worn these about six times and I love them (for the most part). They definitely show an underwear line and the seem of the absorbent fabric feels a bit weird. I wish they just covered the whole back with it instead of stopping halfway. Overall, they worked great except for leaking once. So 5/6 times worked perfectly. I will keep wearing them but I will bring backup products just in case. #AEreviewsweepsentry

This is my first pair of period undies and I am very pleased with them so far. They are definitely thicker than normal underwear but thats to be expected. My period is usually on the lighter side and I have had no leaks so far. I am curious to see how these do in the long run after multiple washes. #AEReviewSweepsEntry
