Aerie Gauzy Cover Up Shirt

Living in Florida a large part of my wardrobe is gauze. This wonderfully made, soft cover is stuff beach dreams are made of, minus the sand. I saw this shirt at another store and it was $108.00. Knowing this, I came back to Aerie and bought one of every color and 2 in white. lol! If you are on the fence on ordering this, don’t be. I’ve slept in these pretty shirts and dressed them up to go out. I’ve also gotten compliments on the different colors. They wash really well and the more you wear them the softer they get. Aerie please get these in short sleeves too! ❤️

Loved this cover up so much I bought it in four colors. It kept selling out and my orders kept getting canceled but months of stalking the app paid off. This does run a bit oversized I’d say. I’m 5’10 and 200lbs and typically a size L but ordered a M and it fits me more true to size. I do feel like the sleeves on the M are just barely long enough so if you’re on the taller side keep that in mind, I’m going to wear them both ways but prefer to wear them rolled/cuffed so the length doesn’t really bother me.

This is labeled as a bathing suit cover but I wore it over leggings cause it’s just the right length. It does run big. What I love about it is it’s very soft and the fabric is light for summer. I wish the brighter cooors were in stock because I would like another one.

It does run large, but I like it that way bc I can do multiple things with it, like tuck it in a little, wear it loose, or tie the ends. It works for the beach, by the pool, I have even worn it to bed bc it’s so comfortable. I love the material too. I got it in white, but def considering the black now!

I bought this as a fun cover-up - to - top for my honeymoon and have loved it. I bought the XL hoping it would be perfectly oversized and it was exactly what I was hoping for. Usually most Aerie tops aren't oversized but are sized on the shorter-waisted end of things, but this shirt is plenty long on my 5'10 curvy frame, coming to mid-thigh (about 4 inches above my knees). Billowy, light, soft and now worn borderline too often with jeans, bike shorts, or a swimsuit. Hoping so much that Aerie re-stocks this shirt this summer as I would gladly purchase every color after the success of this purchase. Hoping for a re-stock and hoping for more billowy, oversized styles like this one!

This shirt is uber soft and comfortable! It's perfect to layer over top of a swimsuit or shirt. It works great with leggings if you prefer something to cover your bum! But, this is a very oversized top. I typically wear a Large. Even with sizing down a whole size, it's still a perfectly oversized fit on me! I would recommend sizing down once or even twice!

It’s made to run big and is very roomy! Very light and airy, it will make a perfect swim suit cover up!

absolutely love this shirt! Perfect shirt for my bridal party and getting ready the day of my wedding. Love the oversized fit, super light and flowy. Pairs perfectly with leggings! Im usually a med/large, I got the small and its still oversized! I purchased white for myself and black for my girls, but all the colours are fabulous. Highly recommend!

I got a M for the oversized look and it is perfect. The material is baby soft and the color is vibrant. Can't wait to wear all summer.

I’ve been eyeing the FP version of this for a while now and couldn’t justify spending that much on a shirt. I ordered this one and love it!! It is so soft and comfortable, lightweight but still warm enough to cover up on a chilly day. Super versatile. Very happy with this purchase! I got this to wear as a beach cover up but when it came I decided to try it tucked with a pair of ripped jeans and it was perfect. A little large to wear as a top so I would order 2 or more sizes down to recreate this look. The material is so light and airy and the color is perfection. Can’t wait til I tan up!

When they say runs big, they mean it! I am athletic framed and have large arms. Which is problematic when buying shirts, I often have to size up. This shirt I went with a L because I thought beach wear. But it is like an XXL. I am going to exchange at the store for a Medium I am thinking, if not a small. The fabric and feel are great and I love it, I just need a different size.

I love this shirt so much!! I wish they had an ivory/linen color because I'm just not a huge fan of the pure white, but I love this shirt a lot! I would buy 10 if they had more neutrals. I'm glad I read reviews before ordering because I usually wear a medium, but a few people said to size down two sizes if you want it to fit "properly". I still wanted it to be oversized so I went down one size and it's perfect.

So comfy and perfect with chunky chains, over a swimsuit or open over an outfit. I got black and white and would love if AE made them in some earthy fall colors too. Definitely size down.

Omggg I’m already a hug fan of Aerie. I have this in. Tan, white , green , pink , orange and now I’m thinking of getting the black color. I’m wearing a size xs in this pic in the color cream/beige . But I bought the some in xxs. It’s not really a big difference in sizing. Still big but so cute and flattering. Doesn’t take over because I think the material is airy and textured it just works. I’m petite and normally too oversized makes me look odd like a turtle . But this is just Beyond perfect and so cute!! I’m 5ft 108 lbs. 32C bust and 25” waist for ref. Honestly has been my go to a lot lately . Tie it up or wear it down. It’s so soft . And great for a mama on the go.

They can be dressed up or down or even worn as a swim cover up! Runs a little big but is meant to be a little oversized.

Gorgeous fabric! I felt like a goddess wearing this on vacation. It is lightweight, slightly see-through, and definitely oversized. I typically wear a 6-8 in tops and the small was very big, but was long enough to cover my bottom (which is a must for me). There is a reason this cover up has been sold out twice! This color works perfect for other neutral colors. Easy to dress up with shorts for a beach day!

But this now! I bought in 2 colors - dusty seafoam and stump brown. Material is very nice! Perfect for tying in the front and rolling up the sleeves and wearing with a pair of destructed jean shorts. Also wonderful as an oversized beach shirt. I ordered my normal XL and loved the oversized feel. Size down if you want a more tapered look. I’m my opinion, the oversized part is what adds to the look!

I LOVE this so much, I will probably buy another color or two. It’s super versatile - looks great unbuttoned as a swim cover up or layer over a tank and buttoned for a half tuck. Works with jeans and leggings. The gauzy fabric is super soft and it doesn’t wrinkle noticeably. I love that it doesn’t have a collar. It’s definitely oversized and because it’s supposed to fit that way, I’d recommend anyone to buy their normal size.
