AE Quarter-Zip Rain Jacket

First of all, I totally agree with the review that it's loud and crinkly and does honestly feel kind of like a trash bag. If you're expecting a light, windbreaker type material, this isn't it at all. I ordered it and was honestly planning to return because it seemed a bit heavy for what I wanted, but then one day when it was pouring rain and I threw it on and I'll be, this is literally the best rain jacket I've ever owned. It absolutely does repel water, even better than the $100+ rain jacket I have. As a rain jacket, it's absolutely functional and perfect. I love the pullover style as well, because it keeps rain from seeping in through the middle like a button or zipper might. It's also very stylish. That said, there are a couple downsides. First, the one I got stunk. Bad. It smelled like a musty old tent. Probably just the material, and hopefully will go away with another wash. Second, it runs really big, IMO. I know it's an oversized fit, so I got an XS. Even that was super big (for reference, I am 5'4 and 140 lbs, so not a tiny girl, and am usually a M). Not a dealbreaker, and good if you're going to layer it, but for spring and summer, might want to go down at least a size. Overall, this is the perfect rain jacket if you're looking for something that is substantial and completely waterproof. The quality is excellent.

I loved the look of this online and really wanted to love it in person. And while it seemed to be well made, unfortunately it wasn’t a win for me. It runs huge, and the fabric is very loud, stiff, and crinkly. Every movement you make in it is loud. It reminded me of a big trash bag. I will be returning.
