AE Stretch Stovepipe Khaki Pant

I have been looking for lightweight cotton pants to wear during the summer. I asked a friend where she had purchased her lightweight khakis. They fit her perfectly and were very lightweight, just what I was looking for! She had purchased them at American Eagle. When I went to AE the associate told me they didn't have any Stovepipe Khaki pants in the store and suggested I try on the AE Strigid High-Waisted Stovepipe Jean to help determine what size I was. That style is similar to the Stovepipe Khaki's I wanted. He asked me what size I usually wear...a 10-12 medium petite. They suggested a size 4 or 6 short. I was dumbstruck and hesitant to try something THAT small on. I asked if he could bring me an 8, just because I couldn't begin to think a 4 or 6 would fit me. He brought the 8 short and I was swimming in them! I tried the 6 short and 4 short. I ended up ordering a 6 short and a 4 short so I could see how the khakis would fit when I received them. When I received the pants, I was pleasantly surprised and shocked to find the 4 short WAS the right size on me. I am SO pleased with the style and fit of American Eagle's Stovepipe Khaki Pants and unexpectedly the American Eagle High Waisted Strigid Stovepipe Jeans. Both of them actually sit mid-waist on me, which is what I like. I am going to give myself a pair of AE Stovepipe Jeans as an extra treat for myself! P.S. The phone associate on AE's customer service line couldn't have been nicer and offered me a free mail-in label to return the pair of AE Khakis that were too large. AE, where have you been all my adult life? Glad to have found you! This was a birthday surprise I gave myself

Very comfortable and stretchy. The material is more lightweight than the pictures, which I actually liked. They run a bit short. I got a size 2 short originally, and they were just a little too short. Ordered the size 2 regular and they’re perfect. For reference I’m 4 ft. 11, 118 lbs.
