Once known as the SharkFin, this ‘80s & ‘90s staple gets an upgraded contemporary design – and it’s super comfy, of course.
To celebrate our collab, we asked two MyAerie Associates, Zolie & Hannah, to pair their Flame sneakers with their fave OFFLINE by Aerie looks. Keep reading to see how they put an AerieREAL twist on their kicks!
ZOLIE
How would you describe your style?
I would describe my style as 70s/90s sparkle grunge. I love incorporating bright colors into my wardrobe and the OFFLINE by Aerie X LA Gear Flame Hightops are a great way to do so. The shoes remind me of my time as a cheerleader and gymnast and bring me feelings of nostalgia.
How did you choose to style your OFFLINE by Aerie X LA Gear Flame Hightops?
I chose to highlight three main OFFLINE collections with the outfits I styled: Seamless, Real Me, and OTT. I chose Seamless for my activewear because it is breathable, supportive and cute. Real Me is the versatile member of the group: it’s buttery smooth and can be styled up despite it being active wear! Finally, OTT is my go-to comfort fabric. It is light and soft but also keeps me warm.
What makes you Aerie REAL, and what do you like about being a MyAerie Associate?
What makes me Aerie REAL is that I have learned to love the body I have been given without changing it to fit into what society has pressured us to look like. This program has uplifted me and helped me feel more comfortable and confident in my skin. Being a MyAerie Associate is the perfect creative outlet and has brought amazing new friendships into my life.
HANNAH
How would you describe your style?
My style is catered to my mood and inspiration of the day. I love to experiment with ’70s-’90s eras of fashion and make each outfit very “me”.
How did you choose to style your OFFLINE by Aerie X LA Gear Flame Hightops?
I decided to style the OFFLINE by Aerie X LA Gear Flame Hightops with the 4” Goals Bike Short and Strappy Back Sports Bra set, specifically in the color Coral Sun. Goals is my favorite active fabrication because it provides support and hold. I added the black OTT Shrug on top of the set to bring dimension to the outfit and make it more season-versatile. I love the contrast of neon colors with black in the sneaker, so I had to do the same with my outfit! I would wear this casually, or to work out.
What makes you Aerie REAL, and what do you like about being a MyAerie Associate?
What makes me Aerie REAL is that I balance comfort with fashion. I love clothes and styling unique outfits, and I also love to be comfortable with what I am wearing. My favorite part about being a MyAerie Associate is the community and inspiration that the program offers. Being part of a creative community where everyone supports and loves each other has been a dream!
