Hi Aerie Fam! I’m Syma, Senior Manager of PR for Aerie and am here to share some New Year’s Eve inspo for you as we get ready to ring in 2022!

To ring in 2020 two years ago, my husband and I started a new tradition and hosted a New Year’s Eve pajama party! I’ve always loved a good house party—especially for New Year’s Eve where it can seem a bit overwhelming to organize plans to go out. The beauty of hosting your own party is that you are already in the comfort of your own home. And what could make that even better? Counting down to 2022 in comfy Aerie PJs, of course.

My husband and I were able to host a few friends to ring in 2020, but as 2021 came around, the world was in a much different place. So, to keep it safe, we stayed in again, but decided to keep our tradition alive by hosting our own mini pajama party on the couch! We brought back all the key elements from our first party, and I’m here to share the fun with you! Hope this inspires you to ring in the New Year the REAL way: cozy style!

THE LOOK:

First, pick out your favorite Aerie PJs. I love our star print this season! The fabric is so ultra-soft and warm—these will be pajamas you’ll love for years to come. Check out our exciting mix of sleepwear here and encourage your guests to do the same!

ADD SOME GLAM:

Now, to dress up your PJs, add a pair of sparkly (but comfortable!) heels and bold earrings. I love this mix for a touch of glam. I also love adding sparkle to my eyes with a metallic shadow with shimmer and a bright, bold lip. Have fun with your look and always remember to let the REAL you shine!

And don’t forget the most important accessory – your NYE crown. Buy a few for you and your guests so you can all accessorize in style! Add some noisemakers and confetti and you’ve got yourself a party.

DIY PHOTO BOOTH:

Next up, create your own photo booth! Every party needs a content backdrop—you’re going to need a space to take all your photos and videos from the night. I suggest a metallic fringe backdrop, you can find one at any party supply store. It’s been my go-to backdrop for house parties and is so easy to put up. I suggest buying a 2-pack, so you have maximum space for all your content dreams. Fun fact, this backdrop also matches the Aerie holiday vibes from our photoshoot. Meant to be? I think so!

Another pro tip—I love getting a few disposable cameras so that my guests and I can snap some old school photos. The best after party? Getting the film developed and seeing how those pics turned out!

THE SNACKS:

Everyone loves a classic charcuterie board of fave bites that they can snack on all night long. If you’re a pizza lover (like me) ordering a variety of pizzas is an easy and delish way to go, too! For dessert? Make your own sundaes! It’s so much fun to set up an ice cream bar with your favorite flavors and toppings. It’s not only delicious, but also a super entertaining activity for your guests! Who doesn’t want midnight ice cream?

THE JAMS:

Curate your Best-Of-2021 playlist with all your favorite jams and feel free to play DJ. It’s so fun to take requests from your friends throughout the night! Be sure to start that living room dance party, and know you’ll never be comfier than dancing all night in your Aerie pajamas.
