We caught up with Savannah to get the scoop on her favorite things about being an athlete.
Aerie: Which sport is your favorite?
Savannah: Track & basketball.
Aerie: Why do you love competing in Special Olympics?
Savannah: Because I am competitive and it is fun.
Aerie: What’s the best part of being an athlete?
Savannah: I enjoy the thrill and excitement that comes with playing sports.
Aerie: What advice do you have for other athletes?
Savannah: Believe in yourself even when no one else supports you.
Savannah is an 11th grade student at the Pittsburgh Oliver Citywide Academy. Her favorite subjects in school are math and reading.
Savannah’s first season of Special Olympics Unified Champion Schools® track was cut short due to COVID but she kept busy playing her favorite outdoor activity, basketball, when she could.
Her favorite hobby is watching zombie movies.
